Hi, I am new to this forum and wondering if I might have HH or just a general sweating issue. Here is a little about myself and my condition.
I am 45, 5'10 235 lbs. So yes I am overweight. I don't smoke but I am a social drinker. Otherwise, I try to stay active and exercise when I can.
I noticed that when the weather nears 70 degrees, that just walking around a shopping mall can get me sweating. Its mostly down my back, chest, and butt. It sometimes gets so bad that I soak through my shorts. I also noticed that when I eat spicy food my head gets soaked. I really notice it in the summer, say at the beach. I could walk down the boardwalk and start soaking through my clothes. I never really notice this happening during the cooler months although I do seem to feel warmer than usual sometimes.
So does any one have a thought on this? I am sure I need to lose weight and maybe cut back on the alcohol but does this sound like HH? I see plenty of other overwieght people that are not sweating like me so I was wondering what could be going on. I appreciate any advice or help. I would also be interested in a brand or color of shorts that would not show the sweating
Thanks!
Barry

Hi Barry,
This is what I recommend:

You can first test to see if you have HH. visit http://www.stopsweats.org/type…..rhidrosis/

There are simple steps to help you out. If you are still not sure then you can visit your doctor and he will help you out.

Once you are sure you suffer from HH then you have many options to live with it. From prescription medications to powerful antiperspirants like dricolor.

All the best :)

Hi Barry,

I think that what pinker recommends you is the best thing you can do. They are a very good help.
I felt the same feelings and lived a lot of embarrassing situations because could not control my perspiration. My problem is also on my chest and back. I started looking for solutions and discovered this Spanish brand, Sutran, who commercilizes garments to avoid the sweating stains to come out and it really worked for me. They have t-shirts to wear under your normal clothes. Their website is http://www.sutran.es and have an online shop.
Good luck!

You're not actually overweight really. These days that is not that heavy and if you are actively exercising then that is even better. I just have a couple of recommendations for you.

First of all, be careful with the spicy foods. Yes, it makes you sweat initially on the forehead, but that is typical for almost everybody, not just people who sweat excessively. However, spicy food can negatively affect your body in terms of sweating later on. Same thing with meat and dairy products. When curing excessive sweating, I am all about DIET. There are a few book reviews at tiredofsweating.com that you should look into. Most of them use natural methods, which (in my opinion) is much better than surgery etc.

Best of luck!
